Only Addiction Treatment Center Certified Through AZ COVID-19 Safety Program

Scottsdale, AZ (February 3, 2021) – The Hope House, a residential addiction treatment center in Scottsdale, Arizona, is the only rehabilitation center in the state to become AZSafe + Clean Certified, making The Hope House one of the safest places to receive treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association facilitates the certification program requiring all applicants to meet numerous safety and cleaning standards related to COVID-19, some of which include:

  • Employees wear appropriate PPE.
  • The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing in all public spaces, with an emphasis on frequent contact surfaces, is increased.
  • Employees must check their temperature prior to their shift and not come to work if feeling sick.

Certified Through Arizona's COVID-19 Safety Program

Becoming AZSafe + Clean Certified is just the most recent step The Hope House has taken to ensure its clients and staff are safe while in treatment. Initially, The Hope House implemented strict COVID-19 protocols for all clients and staff in line with local and federal guidelines. Shortly after, the luxury residential rehab partnered with ASU’s Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation to expand client treatment options.

Addiction and mental health problems have been on the rise since March 2020, with a recent report from the National Emergency Medical Services Information System showing deaths from overdose more than doubled at the start of the pandemic.

The skyrocketing rate of abuse has led to increased admissions rates in addiction treatment centers around the country. At The Hope House specifically, “75% [of the clients] coming in right now are specifically citing COVID as a catalyst to seeking treatment,” said the Clinical Director for The Hope House, Brenna Gonzales.

The Hope House continues to proactively adjust to the evolving landscape despite Arizona’s record high number of cases per capita.
